Methodology Change | Solactive Equileap Global Gender Equality 100 Leaders Index | 31th August 2018
Today, on 21th August 2018, Solactive announces the following changes to the methodology of the Solactive Equileap Global Gender Equality 100 Leaders Index (DE000SLA3SX1, DE000SLA3S00, DE000SLA3S18):
According to the current index guideline the selection process in relation to US shares is as follows. First, the top 30 US listed shares are included in the index, regardless of Gender Score. Then the next highest scoring US stocks are added, but only if they have a Gender Score of at least 14, up to maximum 50 US stocks in total. Then the highest scoring companies from the rest of the world will be added to total 100 stocks in the composition.
The revised selection process in relation to US shares foresees an inclusion of 50 US listed shares regardless of the amount of the Gender Score. Insofar, the index guideline will be subject to an amendment and the new wording under 2.1 of the index guideline will be as follows:
“3. First, the top 50 US listed shares are included in the index, based on their Gender Score. Then the highest scoring companies from the rest of the world will be added to total 100 stocks in the composition.”
As a consequence of the above change the weighting scheme will also be amended. The new wording under 2.1 of the index guideline will be as follows:
“4. The components will be weighted then equally.”
Solactive AG’s Oversight Committee is of the opinion that the suggested methodology changes do not compromise the index’ integrity and comparability. The changes were deemed non-material by Solactive’s Oversight Committee.
The index guideline will be modified accordingly and the changes will be effective on 31 August 2018. The new index guideline will be available on this date.
