Announcement | Benchmark name changes | Impacting Paris-Aligned (PAB) & Climate Transition Indices (CTB)

Solactive hereby announces updates to the names of certain benchmarks in response to the recent amendments to the EU Benchmarks Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/1011). These changes, effective from 1 January 2026, introduce specific requirements for EU Climate Transition Benchmarks (EU CTBs) and EU Paris-Aligned Benchmarks (EU PABs) used in the European Union.

Key Regulatory Requirements

Under the amended Regulation, Article 19a (BMR), benchmark administrators shall include the acronyms “CTB” or respectively “PAB” in the name of their EU Climate Transition Benchmarks or EU Paris-aligned Benchmarks. This is currently not the case for all CTBs and PABs administered by Solactive.  

​To ensure continued compliance with the Regulation and to safeguard the continued availability of the affected CTB and PAB benchmarks for use in the European Union, Solactive proposes to apply the updated naming convention to both new and existing benchmarks. Accordingly, existing benchmarks currently not meeting the naming requirements will undergo a name change.
