Methodology Change | Solactive EM Solar Energy Index | Effective Date 06 January 2021

Today, on the 21^th of December 2020, Solactive announces the following changes to the methodology of the following index (the ‘Affected Index’):

Rationale for Methodology Change

Solactive AG has determined to adjust the definition of “Emerging Countries” in the methodology of the Affected Index. More specifically, the definition of “Emerging Countries” will be linked to the Solactive Country Classification Framework instead of the current IMF classification to adapt the methodology to the Solactive standard. 

Changes to the Index Guideline

The wording in the Index Guideline is replaced as follows:

From (old wording):

„Emerging Markets“ sind alle Länder, die am Selektionstag vom Internationalen Währungsfonds zu den Schwellenländer gezählt werden. Ein Unternehmen des Auswahlpools wird den Emerging Markets zugeordnet, wenn es in einem der Länder seinen Hauptsitz hat. Sollten an einem Selektionstag die Informationen des Internationalen Währungsfonds nicht zur Verfügung stehen, entscheidet das Index-Komitee über die Länderzuordnung als „Emerging
Markets“.

To (new wording):

„Emerging Markets“ umfasst alle Länder, welche am Selektionstag der „List of Emerging Countries“ des Solactive Country Classification Frameworks zugeordnet werden können (https://www.solactive.com/documents/solactive-country-classification/).

Defined terms used in this announcement, but not defined herein, have the meaning assigned to them in the respective index guideline of the Affected Indices.
