Service Operations is a multidisciplinary and agile application support function responsible for real‑time system monitoring, technical troubleshooting of complex applications, incident management, and global market checks. The team supports our business, development, and DevOps departments across all mission‑critical environments, ensuring reliable 24/6 operational coverage.
Job Overview
We are seeking an Application Support Specialist with deep technical and financial experience in market connectivity, trading platforms, and real‑time financial systems. You will support and enhance our proprietary index and market‑data platforms across distributed Linux environments, ensuring stability, accuracy, and operational excellence.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced environments, understands front‑to‑back trade flows, and can lead technical resolution, real‑time monitoring, incident handling, and projects with confidence.
Your Tasks
Production Support & Incident Management
  • Provide L1/L2 support for mission‑critical index, market‑data, and trading‑related applications
  • Monitor distributed Linux systems, analyse logs, and resolve real‑time production issues
  • Lead incident management, coordinating with global tech and business teams, and driving root‑cause analysis
  • Ensure SLA‑compliant resolution and maintain high platform availability
  • Manage change, release, and deployment activities following ITIL best practices
Technical Troubleshooting & Platform Stability
  • Troubleshoot issues across market connectivity, data feeds, APIs, and distributed systems
  • Support financial, business, development, and data teams with application and data‑related inquiries
  • Analyse and modify complex SQL datasets, log messages, and system behaviour to identify and resolve issues
  • Execute database modifications and optimise complex queries
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Act as a primary contact for business users across Hong Kong, Frankfurt, and Toronto
  • Serve as incident manager in real time, covering operations, escalation, resolution, communication, and documentation
  • Translate business requirements into technical actions and platform enhancements
  • Lead projects end‑to‑end independently

Documentation & Knowledge Management
  • Document procedures, troubleshooting guides, and best practices
  • Maintain operational runbooks and support documentation
 
Continuous Improvement & Leadership
  • Identify opportunities to improve monitoring, workflows, and support processes proactively and independently
  • Mentor junior support staff and contribute to a culture of operational excellence
Your Profile
Experience & Domain Knowledge
  • 5+ years in application/technical support within financial markets, trading platforms, or market‑data systems
  • Strong understanding of front‑to‑back trade flows and market connectivity
  • Experience supporting technical real‑time trading, market‑making, risk, or market‑data systems
Technical Skills
  • Strong Linux expertise (shell, troubleshooting, performance analysis)
  • Strong SQL across major RDBMS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
  • Experience with monitoring stacks (ELK, Kibana, Grafana, Alerta)
  • Familiarity with APIs, job schedulers, and distributed systems
  • Knowledge in Bash/Python scripting for automation and data analysis
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is a plus
  • Process & Soft Skills
  • Strong incident, change, and release management experience (ITIL)
  • Ability to lead high‑pressure production incidents with calm and clarity
  • Excellent communication skills in English; comfortable working with global teams
  • Proactive, structured, and able to take ownership of complex issues
 
Bonus Skills
  • Exposure to market‑making, derivatives, or multi‑asset trading environments
  • Software development or DevOps experience
