Solactive Expands Thematic Index Offering with Three New Indices Tracked by Amundi UCITS ETFs

FRANKFURT AM MAIN – Solactive has expanded its thematic index offering with three indices covering space technologies, critical metals and rare earths, and electrification infrastructure, which are tracked by Amundi recent listed UCITS ETFs, respectively. The indices are designed to capture companies operating across distinct segments of technological and industrial development, spanning the space industry, the extraction, processing, and refining of critical materials, and the infrastructure supporting electricity transmission and distribution.

The infrastructure and resources that underpin artificial intelligence and the energy transition are seeing rising demand. Electricity consumption from data centers grew by 17% in 2025 and is projected to roughly double from 485 TWh to 950 TWh by 20301. The supply of the minerals on which this infrastructure depends remains concentrated: excluding rare earths, the average share of the top refining country for key energy minerals rose to 72% in 2025, while investment in critical minerals fell by 9% in the same year.2 In parallel, the global space economy grew by 12% year-over-year to USD 686 billion in 2025, with commercial activity accounting for 79% of the total.3

The Solactive Global Space Technologies Index, the Solactive Global Critical Metals & Rare Earths Index, and the Solactive Global Electrification Infrastructure Index share a common, rules-based construction. Each index draws its universe from the Solactive GBS Global Markets All Cap USD Index, and eligible companies must meet minimum thresholds regarding total and free-float market capitalization and trading value. Thematic exposure is defined through industry classifications: companies must be classified in industries attributed to the respective theme and must derive at least 50% of their aggregated revenues from these activities. In all three indices, Solactive’s proprietary ARTIS® technology is used to assess the business relevance of companies to the respective theme. All three indices are rebalanced semi-annually, in May and November.

The Solactive Global Space Technologies Index is designed to comprise companies involved in the space industry, spanning space equipment and satellite manufacturing, satellite services, and related software, while companies flagged for involvement in controversial weapons are excluded. Constituents are weighted according to their free-float market capitalization, adjusted by the share of revenue each company generates from space-related activities, and the aggregate index weight of any single company is capped at 15%.

The Solactive Global Critical Metals & Rare Earths Index focuses on companies involved in the extraction, processing, and refining of rare earth elements and critical materials, assigned to twelve categories that range from copper, lithium, nickel, and cobalt to graphite and rare earths. Constituents are weighted according to their free-float market capitalization, adjusted by the share of revenue each company generates from the relevant activities. The aggregate index weight of any single company is capped at 5%, and the aggregate index weight of each category is capped at 20%.

The Solactive Global Electrification Infrastructure Index captures companies involved in the development, construction, and modernization of electricity grid infrastructure, across a value chain that includes transmission, distribution, grid automation, storage, and related services. Constituents are weighted according to their free-float market capitalization. The aggregate index weight of any single company is capped at 5%, and companies classified as utilities are capped at an aggregate index weight of 30%.

The three Amundi ETFs listed on 20 October 2026 on Xetra and Euronext Paris under the following ticker codes:

ETF Xetra Euronext Paris
Amundi Global Space Technologies UCITS ETF ASPT SP4C
Amundi Global Critical Metals & Rare Earths UCITS ETF ACMR CR1T

Timo Pfeiffer, Chief Markets Officer at Solactive, commented: “We are pleased to continue expanding the thematic series with Amundi, building on the successful launches of the Global Data Center and the Global Memory Chips indices earlier this year. Space technologies, critical metals and rare earths, and electrification infrastructure address different physical foundations of technological development. We are delighted to deliver the underlying indices for these three ETFs.”

Benoit Sorel, Head of ETF & Indexing business line at Amundi, said: “We are pleased to collaborate with Solactive on these three new indices, helping bring to market targeted exposure to some of the key physical enablers of AI and Future technology. These new ETFs further expand Amundi’s thematic offering for investors looking for simple and effective ways to capture long-term structural trends.”
