Asset Management One Launches ETF Tracking the Solactive JGB Futures Short Index

FRANKFURT AM MAIN – Solactive is pleased to announce its first ETF collaboration with Asset Management One Co., Ltd. through the launch of the One ETF JGB Futures Short Index (612A), which tracks the Solactive JGB Futures Short Index. The product is designed to provide short exposure to Japanese government bond futures through a fixed income index solution.

As monetary policy normalization and shifting interest rate expectations continue to shape Japan's fixed income markets, market participants are using instruments that provide exposure to changing interest rate environments. In this context, a strategy linked to short exposure to Japanese government bond futures may serve as a targeted instrument for expressing a bearish view on Japanese government bonds or for hedging duration exposure within broader portfolios.

The Solactive JGB Futures Short Index replicates the performance of a hypothetical short position in 10-Year JGB Futures Contracts on a quarterly rolling basis. Built on a transparent, rules-based methodology, the index is designed to serve as a benchmark.

The ETF was listed on Tokyo Stock Exchange on 31 July 2026 under the ticker 612A.

Timo Pfeiffer, Chief Markets Officer at Solactive, commented: “We are pleased to expand our relationship with Asset Management One through our ETF collaboration. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to expanding the range of index-based investment solutions available to Japanese investors. As the ETF market continues to evolve, investors are seeking access to a diverse range of market exposures. At Solactive, we remain committed to supporting this evolution through the development of transparent, and innovative index solutions.

Yusuke Sasaki, Director, Managing Executive Officer, Head of Strategic Fund Investment Division, Head of Product Division at Asset Management One Co., Ltd., commented: “We are pleased to collaborate with Solactive on the development of this ETF. We have offered products such as high-coupon and maturity-specific funds under the ’One ETF JGBs series’. With the listing of this ETF, the series now offers ‘full lineup’ capable of meeting a diverse range of investment needs, utilizing JGBs—from the flexible management of portfolios centered on long positions to strategies targeting interest rate shorts in anticipation of rising rates and even providing hedging tools. Currently, interest in JGBs is growing both domestically and internationally against the backdrop of rising interest rates. Through the ‘One ETF JGBs series’, now expanded to include this ETF, we will accurately address these investor needs and provide an even broader range of options.”
